Quick Write: Easiest Decision
The easiest decision I ever had to make was whether to buy a dress or not. I was shopping at Forever 21 for a Bat Mitzvah dress. At first I kind of liked the design but when I tried it on, everything went downhill. After the dress was on I definitely changed my mind. The shade of purple wasn't the best and it looked huge on me. There was no way in the world that I was going to wear that dress to my friends Bat Mitzvah!

Quick Write: Depth and Complexity
Patterns
Every year is the same. In late summer, early fall, I start school. Then soon after comes my birthday. The next things to look forward to are Halloween, Thanksgiving, and winter break. And where there's winter break, there's Christmas and New Years. A week after the new year begins, school resumes from winter break. Then comes Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, and then the end of the school year nears, everyone gets excited. When that bell rings at 12:30 on that day in June, early summer, it's the sign of a true summer and vacation. It's a time to swim, hang out with friends, go to parties, have fun, and most of all, tan!! This trend will continue until I go to college and then get a job.
Trends
The thing that is changing the most is technology. I would not at all be surprised if I'm teleporting to work in 20 years.
Unanswered Questions
There are many things that I'm eager to know about my future but here are only a couple
What college/university will I go to?
Which career will I pursue?
What type of job will I have?
" " husband will I have?
How many kids will I have?

Quick Write: No Left Hand
If I had to replace my left hand with anything, it would be an endless money dispenser. This would be a very good choice, because if you can't seem to find your money or you don't feel like rummaging through your purse, you'll have endless money literally right in your hands.
Quick Write: What's Up??
The....sky, clouds, birds, trees, planes, people in planes, ceiling, ceiling lights, sprinkler head, and air vent. But in real terms, today we took math part 1 of the CST, in history we watched a movie called national treasure, in PE it was biting as usual, and now I'm in English.
Quick Write: Hardest Test
The hardest test I have ever taken was a science test I took in 4th grade. It was only 3 questions so even if I only missed 1 question, my grade would already be dropped to a 67%!! On top of that, our class was talking to much so that test was a punishment made out of anger from my teacher. I ended up missing 2 question so my grade was a 34% which in elementary terms is a 1.

Evidence Paragraph
Drama is definitely a big problem at Hale. Just to prove this, I did a survey and personally made observation about rumors and drama. For my survey, I asked 35 kids... How often do you hear about drama and rumors each week. True results of the poll showed that over of the 35 kids always hear drama every week!! As an observation, I personally had 5 negative thing said about....and all by 1 person!! Those are 5 insults too many. To add to the situation, like most rumors, all of the things said weren't true!! That is what makes me the maddest about rumors spread. Just think, there are about 1800 kids at Hale. If each person said even only 2 insults about someone else, that is 3600 rumors waiting to be spread. Just think!!

Quick Write: Observation
The way I'm going to observe how much people gossip and spread rumors is listen to how much my friends gossip and even confront how much I find myself talking about other people. What I consider gossip and rumors is when someone is taking negatively about someone else and if they heard it from someone else in long chain of people. I will make observations all around the school and for the duration of nutrition and my PE period, 3rd. I will tally how many people talk about other people. If 2 different people talk about the same rumor, that is just more people to add to the over-sized telephone game. If one person talks about 2 different rumors, that is 2 many rumors that person should be talking about. I estimate about at least 10 people to talk negatively about someone else.

Quick Write: 4 Senses
If I had to loose one of my 5 senses, I'd want to loose my sense of smell. I if lost my sense of sight, I wouldn't be able to see the beauty that this world gives every day and sight is one of the most important senses too. If I lost my sense of hearing, then I wouldn't be able to listen to music, or One Direction, and I love music, and 1D. If I lost my sense of touch, then that could be fatal. Someone could stab or shoot me and I wouldn't know until I was dead. If I lost my sense of taste, then everything would taste like nothing and I couldn't stand that in a world of hot fudge sundaes w/ cherries on top. So if I had to loose 1 sense, it would be my sense of smell.

Quick Write: I Wish 7th Graders Would...
There are many things that 7th graders do that make me tick. Three of them are judge everyones' every single move, spread rumors, and edit their Facebook photos. I wish 7th graders would n't judge everyones' every single move. It is REALLY pointless and there are sooo many other better things they could be doing other than single people out for what they are supposedly doing "wrong". Another things that 7th graders do that really pushes me over the edge is when they spread RUMORS!!!!!!! And they are soooooo untrue!!!! Seriously?!?!?! What is the point in that. A rumor was recently spread about my friend and when I heard about it

Quick Write: Who I'd Persuade
Note: This is my most serious quick write yet. If u are a sucker for emotional and tragic things, keep that in mind.
If I could persuade one person to do one thing for me one time, I'd persuade God to give back my grandma. In 1996 she died and I never got to meet her. My parents got married in 1998 so she never got or see them wed either. My dad isn't complete without her and I can't imagine what it's like to see my moms parents visit every year. When I went to South Africa, all of my great aunts, her sisters, said that I would've loved her and her company. I do still love her even though I only know her spirit which looks over and takes care of me every day. I almost broke down and cried whenever they talked about her. I guess they've just learned how to deal with the pain better than me. We lost her to lung cancer but she never smoked and was so healthy. It's not fair and she should still be here today. But I guess life must go on with or with out the ones you love. I just wish I could meet one day, one time and give her a kiss and a hug.

Quick Write: $100
If I found $100, I'd yell out, "That's where I put those spare bills!" or "I've been looking for these!" Then I would shove the money into my pocket and run home. When I got home I would do my happy dance and I wouldn't be able to stop smiling even if I broke my arm. The next day I would go to the mall with my friends and get cute shirts and clothes from XXI and H&M. Then I'd go to Sephora and get eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, coverup, and other make-up necessities. My mon doesn't let me wear make up unless it's a special occasion but how could she say no if it was with my own money. Well she couldn't. Any left over cash would be blown on hostess twinkles, donuts, and other sweets that my parents NEVER get for me when we go to the supermarket. This is how I'd spend $100.

Quick Write: I Hate It
The thing I hate the most is a very, very, very, very, ugh I could go on FOREVER and ever and and OMG!! You get it, very annoying kid in my advisory. HIs goal in life is to get the largest amount of people to hate him the most they possibly can hate someone. Man did he succeed! I definitely benefit from hating him because if he thought we were friends, EWW! then he'd try to hang out with me more, EWW! and then he'd annoy me even more! By the time that would happen, I'd probably rip out ALL of my hair!! It costs me only one teenie tiny little friend less by absolutely hating this mysterious person. For me to stop hating him, he'll have to stop being sooo annoying and change his entire personality and I know that he never will do that let alone want to.

Quick Write: Best & Worst
There are many good & bad things about me. A good thing is that I'm a diligent & hard worker. I take pride in my work & a like to make it look nice and neat. Another good thing about me is that I'm caring and giving. I like to give people I care about presents for special occasions. A final good thing about me is that I'm smart. I get good grades and in 6th grade everyone came to me for help on class and home work. But nobody is perfect so I do come with some catches. Some of my stories that I think are funny can drag on and/or be a you have to be there moment. I'm also very curious and not only can curiosity kill the cat, but it can get human pre-teens in trouble. One last down fall to me is that I'm crazy and have a bubbly personality but sometimes I can get over-excited.
Quick Write: Teachers Persuasive Techniques

Quick Write: Prized Possession
My most prized possession would have to be my kitty-cat Snowflake. The best thing about Snowy is that she is hilarious!! She thinks she is a dog! She follows me around everywhere. My mom says that if Snowy was out and about in the morning, she would follow me when I walk to school. She also tries, I repeat, tries to play fetch. She just hasn't got the returning the toy to your owner part down, but no biggie. Snowy is also an excellent hunter. When you hold one of her favorite toys above her head her pupils get gigantic and it is so cute. She loves ounce, claw, but every kitty needs their rest. So one night she was lying on the end of my bed and I was getting ready to go to sleep. Usually, Snowflake is in her "hunting mood" at night so she doesn't sleep with me, but she just looked so cute and peaceful so I decided to leave her there, but little did I know that she was ready to pounce no matter how cute she was. So I lay down but little did I know that she was still willing to pounce. I sleep with my hands at my side so when she came around and started to claw at my face!! If I had moved she would've dug her talons, yes talons, into my face even more. So I had to let her claw me a little more until I could make one big motion to "safety". I now have some scratches on my face but I'm fine. So even though Snowy will claw you every once in while, at least she doesn't kill innocent 12 lbs coyotes. :D

Quick Write: The Most Beautiful Thing
The most beautiful thing I've ever seen would have to be the view of Wanaka, New Zealand from my Granny and Grandad's house. I probably went there when I was little but I remember it the most from when I went there for Christmas of '05. It was summer so I was outside every day. I can remember the rolling hills and the quiet New Zealand town below. I would look behind me and see my Grandad's very own home-grown grapes, olives, and pickles. I remember I would ride my bike around and then when I wanted to go on the grass, I would go super fast. I had so much fun during my visit so that only added to the over all beauty

Recurring Theme: Rumpelstiltskin and Cinderella
Theme- keep family and important people close to you.
In Cinderella- she keeps her mother close to her and when her mother dies, she stays friends with her reincarnation of a fish.
In Rumpelstiltskin- the miller's daughter is willing to give up her first born child in return for him making gold.
In Cinderella- she keeps her mother close to her and when her mother dies, she stays friends with her reincarnation of a fish.
In Rumpelstiltskin- the miller's daughter is willing to give up her first born child in return for him making gold.
Themes
- Cinderella- even if life seems hard and unfair, good will come to you eventually; evil will suffer (karma)
- Hansel and Gretel- age is deceiving; don't trust everyone or anyone
- Rapunzel- don't steal, especially from a witch; you can't trust everyone
- Little Red Riding Hood- don't trust people who seem as though they can't be trusted; don't talk to strangers
- 3 Little Pigs- laziness doesn't pay off, hard work does; weaker creatures are still intelligent
- Rumpelstiltskin- don't give up on your first child; don't lie
Quick Write: Persuasion
If you ask me, I 'd say that I'm pretty good at persuading people into doing something for me & I've got good techniques for it too. Usually I have to persuade my parents to let me go to my friends' house after school or for them to buy something for me. One of the charms I use to persuade them is only focus on the good things, like you are selling a house. You aren't going to mention all of the leaks and creaks, you'll mention the great view and new plumbing. Another method I use is applied only to when you want to go home with someone. What you do is you exaggerate. You say that you have barely any homework when really you have 20 math problems, but you've looked over them, they're easy. And there may be a test tomorrow, but there's always Advisory. Or, say that you want your parents to buy you something, promise that you'll pay them back. If that plan totally fails then say you've been wanting one forever and even offer to get one for your little sibling. So I guess, my over all persuasion and methods are pretty good.

- AMC Theaters- I <3 movies but expensive concessions stand

Quick Write: Apple
I like Apple because they make excellent electronic products such as the Mac Book Air and the iPhone 4S. Well maybe they buy the merchandise off of other companies but they sure do get all of the credit and prestige for it. I like the Mac Book Air because of all of its amazing programs such as iMovie, Photo Booth, and its great screen quality. I like the iPhone 4S because of the fun apps/games you can download and how easy it is to download them. Siri cracks me up. When I asked her where to hide a dead body, as a joke, she responded, "I've found 5 lakes near you." and that is hilarious. These are only two product I like from Apple but there are many more I wouldn't mind owning.
Cheese Paragraph
There are lots of different cheeses that I like and hate for many different and good reasons. My favorite type of cheese is mozzarella because it is the most common cheese used on pizza and pizza would be nothing without cheese. I absolutely hate feta cheese for it smells and tastes absolutely disgusting!!! But over all, no-one and nobody that can turn down strawberry or NY style cheesecake. No way in the world. Unless they're allergic of course. So all in all I like some types of cheeses and I don't like some types of cheese, but there is still a world of cheese out there just waiting to be tried.

Quick Write: Change in the Outsiders
In the Outsiders, Dally changed from someone who didn't care, wasn't law-abiding, didn't show his true emotions, and seemed to not have a heart to someone who cared and he even cried when Johnny died. I know this because in the beginning of the book, he stole from lots and lots of shops and acted all tough but then towards the end of the book, when Johnny was dying Dally was extra caring and visited him lots and when he did die, he cried and couldn't handle it so he killed himself.

Here is my 52nd Quick Write.
Wednesday.
If someone told me that my best friend stole something from me then they would have to provide legitimate evidence. They'd have to give me at least 3 videos of 3 different situations of her stealing. They'd also have to say, as an example, on December 21, 2011 this was in your locker, you were absent the 22nd and on the 23rd you came and that item was gone, or something like that. After I believed the evidence they gave me, I would confront my friend and ask her.

Bias in Writing
Today we had no Quick Write.
Tuesday.
Tuesday.
***Don't lie! Your job is to make the truth sound as good, or as bad, as possible***
How old are the students in this class?
good- Most of the kids in this class are 12 so they're mature and responsible.
bad- A large majority of this class are pre-teens meaning they're stubborn and for the most part immature.
How many students are in this class?
good- There are many kids in this class so there is a variety of races, faces, and cultures among them.
bad- There are over 40 kids in this class so none of them get the small portion undivided attention they all deserve.
How do the kids behave in this class?
good- Many kids are well behaved and listen.
bad- Far too many kids talk far too often.
How much hair does Mr. McCabe have?
good- He has a full head of hair except for a bald spot which gives him character.
bad- Mr. McCabe has a decent amount of hair except for this one bald spot. He could use a little bit of Bosley.
Quick Write: Stereotypes
Here is my 51st Quick Write.
Monday.
Monday.
- Girls are very moody and can change on a dime.
- Boys are immature and think the stupidest thing are funny.
- 7th graders are cooler than 6th graders and will be better 8th graders than the 8th graders graduating in 2012.
- Teachers are sometimes nice and funny or are sometimes really annoying.
- Little brothers are annoying and copy everything you do and almost NEVER GET IN TROUBLE!!!
- Grandparents are wise and love to spoil their grandchildren.
- Little cousins are cute and not nearly as annoying as little brothers.
- Pancakes are better than waffles because they're fluffier and lighter.
- Cats are better dogs because they are independent and don't need to be walked everyday.
- Dads are definitely put on this world to embarrass their daughters, well that's they've made as a reputation for themselves and what they love to do.
Quick Write: Writing the Lead
Here is my 50th Quick Write. WOO-HOO! 50!
Tuesday.
News Lead- start by summarizing the story (who, what, when, why, how, where)
It was July of 2005 when Bruce H. Hodge was diagnosed with lung cancer. It took 3 months of intense radiation and chemo-therapy to kill the tumor. He was left with many physical difficulties but he is now in good health and is glad to have hit the 5 year milestone of surviving after having cancer.
One Fact Lead- start with one important fact or detail
Bruce H. Hodge was diagnosed with cancer in July 2005.
Mystery Lead- start with a quote or fact that doesn't make sense until you read more
"The treatment was very invasive. It invaded me and um.... well I lost 1/3 of my body weight."

Depth and Complexity
Today we had no Quick Write.
Wednesday.
Wednesday.
- Language of the Discipline- everything has its own slang: swag, OMG, LOL, scrubs, toilet-washers, kings and queens, LMFAO.

GIRL WIPES-OUT AND HAS A GARAGE SALE ON DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND RUN AT SNOW SUMMIT IN BIG BEAR!!!
Sophie Lawrence was skiing down Side Chute, a double black diamond run at Snow Summit Ski and Board Resort in Big Bear. She was with her brother and dad. It was about 4:15pm and they wanted to finish the day off on the east side of the mountain. But it was getting icy and disaster was waiting on Side Chute. She had been skiing since she was four, but even though she was quite good, nothing prepared her for the wipe-out about to take place on Side Chute. It was her first day skiing in a while so she wanted to take this double black slowly. She decided to do pizza turns but no pizza turn stops you on ice as Lawrence learned the hard way that early evening. She was turning and she started going down, straight down. Her skis were almost at a 90 degree angle and that was how she was taught to stop but she wasn't stopping. If anything she was picking up speed. Then it got worse. "I was going straight down a double black. How could this get any worse. Well of course it did. My skis turned parallel to each other. I was still pointed directly down the mountain. Oh great I thought to myself." She was now picking up even more speed. She had to find a way to stop. Her next choice was to sit back and stop with her hands. She leaned back and tried to stop herself. But this was worse, much worse. She was sitting down, had almost no control, and couldn't see because of all the snow spraying up in her face. That idea was out of the window. She was running out of options. Her next and last option was to try and turn. "I couldn't stand up, for that was too hard so I had to make do with the position I was in." She turned once. She slowed down a little bit but was still going quite fast. She turned again. She slowed down a little more but still was going moderately fast. She turned again. Slowed down. She tried to turn but she couldn't. She was headed for the trees off the side of the designated skiing area. She was able to turn at the last second. After a few more turns she finally stopped. She looked up the run and saw a ski, a pole, and another pole. She looked to see her dad at the top of the run. "I was standing at the top and all I could her were high pitched screams. 'Ahhh! Daddy! Ahhh!' I was expecting her to break down and start crying, not to see her throw her hand up in the air and yell, 'Woo-hoo!'" Well, she did. She looked up to her dad and did exactly that. Standing next to her dad was a ski patrol man who helped Lawrence get up and put her skis back on. "He asked 'How was the ride?' I replied 'It was awesome! It was fun and scary like a roller-coaster but there was no restraint bar and I had no control of when it would end.'" But it's not a happy ending yet! After all of that sliding and turning and speeding, Lawrence still had to ski down the end of the run. She got up and all of the snow slid down her back. She skied the rest of the way down and in the strip of sunny snow and turned on patches of powder. "After that, it was a day. No-one was going to make me go on another run. I was done with skiing for the day." So according to Sophie, the lesson to be learned is, "If you want to ski on the east side of the mountain, do it in the morning. Always turn on powder. And, oh, when it's your first time skiing in a while, no matter how good you are, limit the number of double black diamonds you do."
