The English Game: Definitions

letter: A character or symbol within the alphabet. ex: a, b, or, c

word: a combination of letters, vowels and consonants, making a sound. ex: word

sentence: a combination of words that explain, tell, or ask something. ex: When will your go to Barney's Magical World?

paragraph: a combination of sentences that focuses on and explains a certain subject. too long for an example

syllable: a part or sound of a word containing at least a vowel and sometimes a consonant
