QuickWrite:Dangerous

Here is my 46th Quick Write.
Tuesday

One time I almost died! I was driving to school, well really my dad, anyway. My da was driving to my elementary school with me and my brother. The previous night, it was raining and very windy which "helped" us almost die. When we were driving on San Feliciano St. when a big tree branch fell off of an over-hanging tree. My dad slammed on the break and saved all of our lives on that gloomy, autumn day. The tree branch could've wrecked our BMW and most of all killed us.

Girl Severely Injured on Tennis Court
Jamie Roberts and Madison Grimes were playing on the tennis courts near The Cheesecake Factory when Jamie bumped her head on the metal pole of the green light-posts. She was looking to her left, at Madison, when she turned her head forward, she bumped it on the pole. She quotes, "I was laughing and crying at the same time because it hurt but I felt so stupid." She was seven at the time but even though now she's twelve, you can still feel the bump on her head from when she bumped it. This is Sophie Lawrence reporting live from KCAL 9 news, and now for the next story.

Paraphrasing

We had to paraphrase an excerpt on Bugs Bunny.
Bugs Bunny! Yup, the animated gray rabbit whose been with us for many, many years. Bugs is well known for his human like behaviors, sarcastic personality, and mind of no worries, literally, he'll be two feet away form dynamite and will light a match and wave it around like the guy at races with the checkered flag. We all know him as the pranker we love and has grown to be the mascot of Warner Bros. He has popped up in a variety films everywhere and not just his own. He is today the 9th most portrayed character and will remain in our hearts forever and will always put a smile on our face when we here his famous phrase, "What's up, Doc."

We also paraphrased a paragraph on video games and kilowatt-hours.
America uses billions of kilowatt-hours just due to video games. Most new models, such as the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 KINECT use as much energy as 2 new refrigerators if all left on 24/7. Some video games use as much electricity as major California cities such as San Diego and San Jose. But to almost every problem, there is a solution. If less video games are played and/or left on, less electricity will be used, saving the U.S.A. billions of dollars and lowering the Carbon Dioxide out-put to the world. So if we are electricity wise, then the world will be a better place.

Quick Write: In His Own Words

Here is my 41st Quick Write.
Thursday.
Today we had to paraphrase the Pledge of Allegiance.

The original-
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with justice and liberty for all.

In my own words-
I promise loyalty and trustworthiness to the flag of and to the citizens of the United States of America, and to the government, as long as it lives, a unified country, with God as our guidance, together forever, for freedom and fairness to everyone.
